Karamadai Government Higher Secondary School received upgraded infrastructure worth Rs.9 lakhs under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of Emerald Jewel Industry India Limited, implemented through the Krisha Foundation.
As part of the initiative, the school’s Computer Science Laboratory building and the Noon Meal Kitchen were renovated to improve facilities for students. The school currently has around 900 students. The upgraded computer lab primarily benefits students of Classes XI and XII, enhancing their access to digital learning resources.
More than 500 students avail the noon meal scheme daily. The kitchen, which was previously in a deteriorated condition, has now been fully renovated to ensure a safe and hygienic cooking environment for students.

The handing-over ceremony of the renovated buildings was held on February 13, 2026. Mr. Kulandhendral, General Manager of Emerald, inaugurated the facilities and delivered a special address. The Headmistress, Mrs. Shanthi, welcomed the gathering. Mr. Karthik, General Manager of the company, presided over the function.
Mr. Dinesh Kumar, Deputy Manager – CSR, explained the objectives of the CSR initiative. The vote of thanks was delivered by Assistant Teacher Mrs. Sundari.
Senior officials of Emerald, school teachers, Parent-Teacher Association members, and students attended the event.
